Come melt some metals. Fabrication 1 Beginning will introduce you to the fun and free flowing world of precious
metal soldering. Learn techniques that are thousands of years old. Extinguish your fear of the flame and become
confident and proficient with simple torch work. We will discuss different torches, as well as your options of
solders and flux. Learn the basic function of the torch, and all its components including setting up tanks, hoses
and torch tips. You will learn sweat soldering, pick soldering and other techniques for copper, silver and gold.
Learn the basics to fabricate beautiful and unique jewelry. Discuss how to set up your own basic soldering bench
at home with minimal tools and equipment. This is essential to any beginner.

Gemstone Setting 1 Beginning with Renato L. Ronquillo

Are you ready to add colored gemstone or diamond to your jewelry? Take your confidence and ability to the next
level in this 5-nights stone setting workshop. With over 35 years experience in setting gemstone of all shapes and
size. Renato offers you the secrets of his experience. Work one on one with him to develop the necessary skills to
include stones in your work accurately. Setting techniques include Bezel setting, Gypsy (flush) setting, and prong
setting a round and oval stone. You will walk away with beautiful examples of this stone setting styles that will help
with continuing your practice at your studio. (Some experience is helpful).
